our roots

 

The Counter was a dream of ours since we were kids growing up on a ranch in Texas. We always looked forward to riding in the back of our Ford pickup truck. We'd drive into town for a hot meal at the local diner. Our mom and dad would catch up with neighbors over a juicy burger, fresh fries, and ice-cold shakes. At the time, we didn't realize how good we had it, eating beef right from our own community and enjoying fresh milk that was drawn from the cows down the road. We'd go back home and play "restaurant" with our friends, serving pretend cups of coffee and real conversation. The desire and love of serving others ran deep in our souls.

 

Fast-forward a few years, past high school, college, and other life experiences, and we found ourselves craving the nostalgia and flavor of home. We convinced each other to leave our corporate jobs and return to our roots, to serve real food, and welcome friendly people like you into our world, which we call The Counter. It's where we serve the most delicous, handcrafted food - and our very best manners.
